Competing aggressively in the Adriatic logistics market.

The new synergies between port management and operations, and the demands of the shipping industry have yielded solid results for TIV. Not only has the terminal become an important player both logistically and for the integration of containerised cargo transport, but it has become a major contributor to the improvement of Venice as an international logistics centre.

TIV’s operations are closely linked to the economy and policies of the Veneto Region in Italy. In functional terms, the terminal is also easily accessible by road, waterways and rail connecting the north east of Italy, one of the most important and developed industrial areas of the country. TIV’s location serves as an efficient interface between land and maritime transport services for goods coming from or going to the Mediterranean ports, the Black Sea, the Middle East, India and the Far East with TIV’s equipment and logistics infrastructure delivering an efficient transit time for containers to these destinations.

Mariner is a 50% joint investor in Terminal Intermodale Venezia together with Marinvest s.r.l. The managerial responsibility for the terminal, however, lies fully with Mariner. This alliance ensures that TIV competes aggressively in the logistics market of the Adriatic. In fact, since Mariner took over the management of the terminal, the company has invested heavily in the terminal’s facilities and IT infrastructure over the last seven years with the acquisition of new container tracking software, mobile quay cranes, reach stackers and the reorganisation of the yards and management.

The TIV terminal specifications include :
